Antique 19thc Minton Celeste Blue Enamelled Slop Bowl Painted With Birds
DESCRIPTION : Here is an uncommon mid 19th century Victorian Minton porcelain slop bowl hand painted with birds with enamel decoration. The bowl is decorated with a celeste blue enamelled band with four hand painted bird panels and four raised gilt floral patterns in between. The top and bottom gilt bands are decorated with a raised Greek key design. The slop bowl is unmarked but has a red painted G269 pattern number. I have a marked cup and saucer also listed in this pattern. The bowl dates to circa 1860 to 1880. SIZE : The slop bowl measures 8.1 cm high and 15.5 cm in diameter. Weighs 425 g before packing. Bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and rings like a bell when tapped. There are a couple of minor manufacturing imperfections to the white glaze on the lower half which does not distract in any way. Please see my listing for a Minton cup and saucer in the same pattern.
