This is a rare and precious 1st Quality, Royal Crown Derby Imaemon Sitting Duckling Paperweight that is in pristine condition. It was designed by John Ablitt and decorated by the legendary Imaemon Imaizumi XIII in a Traditional Japanese Imari style. This Duckling is in the Green Colourway with a strong turquoise coloured, textured, glaze with an abstract design of cobalt blue leaves and red flowers.
Imaemon Paperweights were produced in a choice of three colourways and issued in very limited numbers. The Sitting Duckling here is one of only 150 that were on sale in the UK and exclusive to the Royal Crown Derby Visitors Centre; the remainder were sent to Japan. The Imaemon Sitting Duckling was introduced in 2000 and has both Red Royal Crown Derby and Blue Japanese Backstamps, the extraordinary Imaemon paperweights were produced without stoppers.
It is in pristine condition and has no chips, scratches, crazing or restoration. The Paperweight measures 7cm high. A rare chance to acquire the ultimate.
